NEW SHOWS ANNOUNCED AT CITY WINERY WASHINGTON DC

 

Washington, DC (October 28, 2019)—City Winery Washington DC (1350 Okie St NE) has added several new shows to the Concert Venue and Wine Garden slated for the fall and winter. Newly added shows include Soul, R&B, Pop, Folk, Go-go, Country, and tribute acts.

 

Big name acts for the season in include author André Hueston Mack, who will be celebrating the publication of 99 Bottles: A Black Sheep’s Guide to Life-Changing Wines on 11/6.  In his entertaining, unconventional wine guide, the award-winning sommelier and winemaker presents the ninety-nine bottles that most impacted his life and encourages you to find your own. Edwin McCain known for his hits “I’ll Be” and “I Could Not Ask for More” will play at City Winery DC on 11/13.

 

New to the winter line-up: Crank Jam takes the stage 12/2 for their monthly go-go jam session. On 1/27, An Evening with Phillip Phillips, the American Idol winner will perform hits and music from his album “Collateral.” Acclaimed Malaysian singer-songwriter, Yuna performs music from her new album “Rouge” on 1/29 and two shows on 1/30.

 

Looking ahead to the spring: on 3/6, Damn The Torpedoes head to the Wine Garden for A Tribute To Tom Petty with music of the icon’s legendary catalog and deep cuts. Songstress Conya Doss brings soul and jazz to the winery 3/7. On 3/8, National Medal of Arts recipient Ramblin’ Jack Elliott takes the City Winery stage to perform American folk tunes.

 

This week starts a busy night on 10/29: Vybe Band in the concert venue, a festive wine tasting Trick or Treat with Wine and Sweets, and District Trivia hosts Trivia Tuesdays in the Barrel Room. On 10/30, Jazz vocalists Chantae Cann & Ashleigh Smith take the stage. For Halloween, Crank Crusaders and Raheem Devaughn bring the go-go experience to the concert venue and in the Wine Garden the Big Azz Halloween Costume Ball hosted by Britt Waters of 95.5FM.

 

A diverse line-up fills out the weekend. Opening November is an experimental trio band, The Bad Plus and taking the stage in the Wine Garden is The Flamin’ Groovies with Muck & The Mires. On 11/2, Monique Samuels returns for a live recording of her podcast “Not For Lazy Moms: The Re-Defined Me” and in the Wine Garden a celebration of a music legend with WONDER-FULL: A Tribute to the Music of Stevie Wonder. The week closes out with singer-songwriter Steven Page, formerly of the Barenaked Ladies, with support from Dean Friedman in the concert venue and AJ Ghent in the Wine Garden on 11/3.  

 

City Winery’s first floor Barrel Room Restaurant & Wine Bar is available for pre or post-show dinner and drinks. Reservations can be made at www.citywinery.com/washingtondc/. Additionally, guests can experience a range of City Winery’s wines at the Tasting Bar located in the entrance alcove, Open Friday 5-8PM, Saturday 1-6PM, and Sunday 1-5PM.

 

All shows at City Winery start at 8pm unless otherwise noted. City Winery’s website is updated weekly with special guest announcements and ticketing information.
