NEW SHOWS ANNOUNCED AT CITY WINERY WASHINGTON DC
Washington, DC (November 4, 2019)—City Winery Washington DC (1350 Okie St NE) has added several new shows to the Concert Venue and Wine Garden slated for the fall and winter. Newly added shows include rock, blues, R&B, go-go, and Americana acts.
Big name acts for the season in include author André Hueston Mack, who will be celebrating the publication of 99 Bottles: A Black Sheep’s Guide to Life-Changing Wines on 11/6. In his entertaining, unconventional wine guide, the award-winning sommelier and winemaker presents the ninety-nine bottles that most impacted his life and encourages you to find your own. Edwin McCain known for his hits “I’ll Be” and “I Could Not Ask for More” will play at City Winery DC on 11/13.
New to the winter line-up: well-known local Go-go band Vybe Band return to the Concert Venue for their holiday show 12/23. For an unforgettable show, DC Black Broadway – Da Golden Girlz brings a modern-day tribute to the 80’s Hits TV Show “The Golden Girls” on 2/9. Fastball brings rock & roll to the winery 2/12.
Looking ahead to the spring: on 3/5, Wesley Stace heads to the Wine Garden for A Tribute to John Wesley Harding featuring Robert Lloyd. On 3/13, the 2016 Blues Music Award Winner Billy Price and the Charm CityRockers takes the Wine Garden stage. Hazel Mitchell Bell featuring Vince Evans Orchestra brings some Jazz classics to the concert venue 3/15. The 1980s R&B group The Family Stand takes the City Winery stage 3/27. On 4/25, Martin Sexton brings down the house with some classic rock & roll.
This week starts with Crank Jam - The World’s Only Go-Go Jam Session in the concert venue. On 11/5,Robert Gordon w / Chris Spedding special guest Jumpin' Jupiter take the Concert Venue and District Trivia hosts Trivia Tuesdays in the Barrel Room. On 11/6, a musical journey into a fusion of Spanish music withJenny & The Mexicats and over in the Wine Garden André Hueston Mack celebrates the release of his book, 99 Bottles: A Black Sheep’s Guide to Life-Changing Wines. Martha Redbone Roots Project brings Americana to the Wine Garden 11/7 and in the concert venue guitarist Sonny Landreth & Cindy Cashdollar perform their iconic traditional blues and roots.
The weekend begins with Loose Ends featuring Jane Eugene on 11/8 and two shows 11/9. Over in the Wine Garden Deep Blue Something of “Breakfast At Tiffany’s” fame take over and perform their hits on 11/9. Closing out the week on 11/10, Jon McLaughlin brings his Me & My Piano Tour to DC with support from Nashville-based duo Sawyer.
City Winery’s first floor Barrel Room Restaurant & Wine Bar is available for pre or post-show dinner and drinks. Reservations can be made at www.citywinery.com/washingtondc/. Additionally, guests can experience a range of City Winery’s wines at the Tasting Bar located in the entrance alcove, open Friday 5-8PM, Saturday 1-6PM, and Sunday 1-5PM.
