A Unique Gathering Spot for Dogs & Their Humans Opens its Doors in the Heart of the City

Washington DC (October 16, 2024) — Washington DC welcomes its newest and most exciting pet-friendly destination with the grand opening of Dog Daze Social Club, located at 1100 Rhode Island Ave NW, in the heart of Logan Circle. Dog Daze Social Club’s restaurant and bar delivers an unmatched food and drink experience and the outdoor dog garden is the perfect place for pet owners to unwind and socialize with their four-legged friends.

“We’re excited to create a space that caters to both dogs and their humans, offering a balance of play, relaxation, and dining,” said Kyle Cissel, one of Dog Daze’s founders. “We aim to foster a sense of community where people and their pets can connect and enjoy time together, knowing that both are well cared for.”

Dog Daze Social Club has thought of everything for humans and dogs in the community, featuring an indoor restaurant & bar serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner for humans and a beautiful outdoor garden where registered dogs can safely play and socialize, and. Dog Daze provides the perfect environment for dogs and people to relax, socialize, and enjoy the well-crafted space. It will be open from 8am-10pm Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Thursday from 8am-11pm, and Friday and Saturday from 8am to midnight, with the garden closing at 11pm.

While the outdoor space is dedicated to dogs, Dog Daze’s indoor café & restaurant offers a full dining experience for their humans. The café will offer a full-service coffee program, featuring special roasts created exclusively for Dog Daze by UNIDO Coffee. Just Juice, popular at the Dupont Farmers Market, will provide a selection of smoothies and acai bowls. The café’s menu is available inside the restaurant, seated in the outdoor dog garden, or on the move from the take-out window.

In the afternoons and evenings, the indoor space, outdoor patio and dog garden serve authentic Chicago tavern-style pizza pies, including the fan favorite P.E.P., which simply stands for Pepperoni. Everywhere. Possible. Dog Daze will also serve sourdough focaccia sandwiches, like The Chloe, stuffed with prosciutto, lemon ricotta, and sun-dried tomatoes. For those with a sweet tooth, finish the meal off with Fior Di Latte Soft Serve, a deliciously authentic Italian gelato soft serve.

The beverage menu is thoughtfully curated to complement the food offerings. Dog Daze will showcase Lost Barrel Brewing, winners of the Virginia Craft Beer Cup, in addition to a lineup of additional craft beers. Guests can also enjoy handcrafted cocktails, including the NOLA, a fresh take on the espresso martini that includes Beignet Cream, and the Apertivo, a rhubarb rosé spritz, crafted by DC mixology expert Lukas B. Smith [The Line DC, No Goodbyes].

The outdoor dog garden is a spacious, secure garden where registered dogs can run, play, and socialize. For the safety of all pets, owners must register their dogs in advance and provide up-to-date vaccination records. The outdoor area is staffed with Pup Patrol team members to ensure safe interactions and a positive experience for all dogs. Picnic tables are available for owners to relax, enjoy a bite to eat, or take a break while their four-legged run free.

All dogs must be pre-registered with up-to-date vaccination records before accessing the outdoor garden. Dog Daze offers day passes, ensuring that dog lovers can visit as often as they like while prioritizing the health and safety of all pets with a capacity on the number of dogs in the garden. On weekdays the dog pass will be $5 from 8am to 5pm and $8 after 5pm, on weekends it will be $10.

Dog Daze has pledged 10% of draft beer sales to be donated to Lucky Dog. Snarfies and Chippin have also generously pledged a 10% sales match.

"Since Hurricane Helene devastated five East Coast states, Lucky Dog Animal Rescue has been tirelessly supporting affected shelters,” said Mirah Horowitz, Founder and CEO of Lucky Dog Animal Rescue. “Not only have we provided pet food and cat litter to organizations and families in need, but we have also taken in over 165 dogs and cats already in shelters before the storm hit. By reducing the number of pets in impacted shelters, they can focus on helping animals displaced by the storm. Our work became even more urgent with Hurricane Milton’s recent strike in Florida. We’re incredibly grateful to Dog Daze Social Club for donating a portion of their sales to support our hurricane relief efforts.”
