Convention Center is in full bloom this cherry blossom season with a variety of spring-themed events beginning Monday, March 20 through Sunday, April 16, as the National Cherry Blossom Festival returns to town. Paws & Petals Yappy Hour
For those traveling with their four-legged friends, Embassy Suites by Hilton Washington DC Convention Center is offering guests and locals alike an opportunity to experience the Paws & Petals Yappy Hour presented by Mars Petcare, a special event part of the National Cherry Blossom Festival’s event calendar. Along with happy hour specials, guests and the public can sign up here for a very special doggie one-night-only swim at the property’s on-site pool.
The Yappy Hour will take place on Friday, March 31st from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Canines can take a splash in the pool while enjoying complimentary dog treats and pup-friendly drinks hand-made by the hotel. Guests can snack on gourmet hot dogs and a specialty “Berry Good Dog” cocktail, and a dog-friendly version will also be available. Guests without pets will have the opportunity to meet adoptable animals from the Humane Rescue Alliance in the lobby of the hotel at the event and have the chance to take home a variety of giveaway items including pop-out dog bowls, themed tennis balls and other pet essentials.
Thematic Food and Beverage Offerings
Celebrating Japanese culture and the Sakura season, the hotel is offering a weekly sake and whisky tasting every Tuesday beginning March 21 through April 11 from 5:30 p.m - 7:30 p.m. in the lobby. Guests can delight their taste buds with a variety of Asian-inspired chef stations featuring an assortment of gyoza and other small bites. Brickstones Kitchen & Bar will also serve two signature Japanese-inspired cocktails: the Tokyo Night cocktail with Shinju Whisky, Grand Marnier, and yuzu juice, and the Sakura Roku Martini with Suntory Roku Gin, amarena syrup and sakuras.
Family Fun
For families taking part in the festivities at The Blossom Kite Festival, on Saturday, March 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the National Mall, the hotel will give away free kites for children, while supplies last.
