FOGO DE CHÃO TO OPEN IN NORTH BETHESDA IN JUNE
Leading Brazilian Steakhouse Coming Soon to Pike & Rose Neighborhood
Bethesda, MD (May 22, 2019) – Fogo de Chão is excited to announce the upcoming opening of their newest location in the vibrant Pike & Rose neighborhood in North Bethesda, Maryland (11600 Old Georgetown Rd., 20852). Opening June 24, this will be Fogo de Chão’s fourth Mid-Atlantic location, joining the restaurants in Baltimore, Tysons, and downtown DC, making it the 54th store worldwide.
Fogo de Chão specializes in the Southern Brazilian cooking technique of churrasco, roasting high-quality cuts of meats over an open flame, with an espeto corrido service model, which is Portuguese for "continuous service." The restaurant is also known for their fresh and seasonal Market Table, award-winning wine list, extensive Brazilian-inspired cocktail menu and decadent desserts.
The North Bethesda location will have approximately 300 seats and feature an expansive bar and al fresco dining.
Staffing Up to Satisfy Demand
As construction on the new location is completed, Fogo seeks top talent to join General Manager & Head Gaucho Chef Moises Lopes who brings 17 years of experience with him to this role. Lopes first learned the gaucho style of cooking on his family farm in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. In 2005 he began to pursue a career as a gaucho chef with Fogo in Brazil, and he moved to the United States in 2008.
“Fogo de Chão in downtown D.C. has been in the heart of the Metro DC area for almost 14 years,” said Lopes. “Based on demand and positive guest feedback we expanded to other locations in Tysons and now Bethesda. Pike & Rose is a premier neighborhood and we believe our authentic Southern Brazilian culture and cuisine will be a great fit. Our guests can expect to receive the same experience here in North Bethesda that they would at any of our locations in Brazil”
With the opening of its newest location, Fogo de Chão expects to bring 85 new jobs to the area. Applicants for both the front and back of house can visit fogo.com/careers or call 301-841-9200 for more information.
About Fogo de Chão
Fogo de Chão (fogo-dee-shown) is a leading Brazilian steakhouse, or churrascaria, specializing in the centuries-old Southern Brazilian cooking technique of churrasco – the art of roasting high-quality cuts of meats over open flame, all of which are carved tableside by Brazilian-trained gaucho chefs. Founded in Southern Brazil in 1979, there are currently 54 locations throughout Brazil, the United States, Mexico, and the Middle East.
Fogo’s distinctive and authentic Brazilian dining experience begins with the seasonal Market Table and Feijoada Bar, which includes seasonal salads, soup, fresh vegetables, imported charcuterie and more. The restaurant features a variety of simply seasoned meats that are fire-roasted by gaucho chefs, plus seafood, desserts, signature cocktails and an award-winning wine list. In addition to the full churrasco experience, Fogo offers its guests multiple ways to enjoy the experience at varying price points, including weekday lunch starting at $15, weekend Brazilian Brunch and a newly enhanced Bar Fogo menu that features smaller, sharable plates, Brazilian-inspired cocktails and happy hour.
