New Shows Announced at City Winery Washington DC

Washington, DC (December 2, 2019)—City Winery Washington DC (1350 Okie St NE) has added new late winter and spring shows to the Concert Venue and Wine Garden. Announcements this week include spoken word, R&B and Soul, and Contemporary Pop.

American Idol season seven runner-up David Archuleta brings his Ok, All Right Tour 2020 to the Concert Venue on May 4, which will include hits like “Crush” and tracks from his impressive 10+ year career. Earlier in the season, City Winery welcomes globally renowned Irish singer songwriter Gilbert O’Sullivan for his Just Gilbert Tour. Best known for chart topping tracks like “Alone Again (Naturally),” “Clair,” and “Get Down,” O’Sullivan’s show promises a trip down memory lane for any fans of his 70s era music.

In April, the James Hunter Six stop by the Concert Venue for a special performance of original Soul & Blues on April 3. The English musician has a repertoire spanning three decades and has received widespread critical acclaim and a Grammy nomination for his live performances. A week prior, Raheem DeVaughn returns to the City Winery stage for two nights of R&B on March 21 and 22. He previously sold out the Concert Venue for two shows in October and his 2020 performances promise to be memorable evenings.

City Winery is proud to announce two late winter performances this week as well. On January 14, Story District stops by to the Concert Venue for its latest iteration – The Morning After. The evening of local storytelling will focus on surprises, consequences and second thoughts. On February 6, Tygressa Jonesperforms in The Wine Garden with Tygressa Sings Natalie. The musical tribute to Natalie Cole was well received on the Kennedy Center stage this past weekend and guests will have the chance to experience Cole’s full repertoire reinterpreted with Jones’s powerful vocal style in City Winery’s intimate third floor garden venue.

This week, catch another American Idol alum Wade Cota with the Jacks on Tuesday night in the Concert Venue. On Wednesday December 4, Ingrid Andress takes over the Wine Garden stage while the City Winery beverage team hosts a Cookies and Alcohol, What a Pair to Share! special tasting event in the Private Barrel Room. Thursday, chart topping boy band O-Town performs a very special set with opener Kicking Sunrise. 

Saturday will be a full house with Corey Harris performing in the Wine Garden with support from Todd AlbrightKevin Ross and his The Mash|Up Experience in the Concert Venue; and a special Bubbles and Bow Ties Couples Night hosted by the wine team in the Private Barrel Room. On Sunday, Howard Hewett takes to the Concert Venue stage while the culinary team celebrates National Bartender’s Day with a special cocktail tasting event offering signature drinks from each of City Winery’s talented bartenders.

City Winery’s first floor Barrel Room Restaurant & Wine Bar is available for pre- or post-show dinner and drinks. Reservations can be made at www.citywinery.com/washingtondc/. Additionally, guests can experience a range of City Winery’s wines at the Tasting Bar located in the entrance alcove, Open Friday 5-8PM, Saturday 1-6PM, and Sunday 1-5PM.
