NEW SHOWS ANNOUNCED AT CITY WINERY WASHINGTON DC
Tickets for Holiday Shows Still Available
Washington, DC (November 25, 2019)—City Winery Washington DC (1350 Okie St NE) has added several new shows to the Concert Venue and Wine Garden slated for winter and spring 2020. Newly added shows include Americana, hip-hop, R&B, soul and Go-go.
For those making plans for the upcoming holiday season, City Winery is stacked with shows that will get visitors into a festive spirit! 12/15 features a holiday show by alternative rock group BETTY in the Concert Venue as Sunny Sweeney’s Dysfunctional Family Christmas takes over the Wine Garden. On 12/18, acclaimed jazz trumpeter Etienne Charles brings his Creole Christmas show to the Concert Venue. Kevin Lionell‘s “Soulful Christmas” heads over to City Winery for a sold out show on 12/22, featuring multi-talented brothers Kevin and Darrin Hawkins along with Candi Bleu and this year’s super band - Kevin Jackson, Anthony Wellington, Phil ‘Doc’ Martin and Justin Thompson. Local R&B and Go-go act Vybe Band returns for a special holiday show on 12/23. The following week guests can end the year right by celebrating at City Winery DC! In the Concert Venue on 12/31, R&B outlier Lyfe Jennings will ring in 2020 with two shows. Up in the Wine Garden on the last night of the year, genre-defying group Secret Society takes the stage. Come back for more the following evening with Lyfe Jennings - New Year’s Day Broken Resolutions Party.
Additions to the winter line-up: The Sugar Hill Gang, the group behind the first worldwide rap hit"Rapper's Delight," bring Wonder Mike, Master Gee & HenDogg featuring DJ T Dynasty to the winery for an unforgettable evening on 1/22. Q Parker (of 112) & Friends bring the “The Bridge Project” tour to DC on 2/5 with a goal of unity, cultural advancement and bridging the gap in genres of mainstream and gospel. On 2/22, Go-go group What? Band takes over the Wine Garden.
Looking ahead to the spring, guests can look forward to soulful performances from both Such andAntoine Dunn on 3/5. Singer-songwriter and American Idol alum Crystal Bowersox returns to City Winery DC for a show in the Wine Garden on 3/10. Alternative folk singer-songwriter Dan Tedesco will serenade visitors when his “American Darkness” Tour stops at the Wine Garden on 3/12.
This week starts with Simone & Friends Comedy with Kandace Saunders Keith Correy, Matt Bergman, Camille Roberts, Richard Whack in the Wine Garden, Suttle in the Concert Venue, and aThanksgiving Wine Pairing class on 11/26. Female Go-go group Bela Dona take the stage in the Concert Venue while Ivy League performs in the Wine Garden on 11/27.
After Thanksgiving, the weekend begins with two shows from R&B performer Dave Hollister on 11/29. Jazz and R&B drummer Lil John Roberts comes to the winery with his “Stripped” show featuring Tony Tatum, Kari Epps & Special Guests. Chopteeth Afrofunk Big Band will perform in the Wine Garden while a wine pairing course on Port Wine And Chocolate takes place in the Private Barrel Room on 11/30. PJ Morgan closes out the weekend with his holiday show on 12/1.
City Winery’s first floor Barrel Room Restaurant & Wine Bar is available for pre or post-show dinner and drinks. Reservations can be made at www.citywinery.com/washingtondc/. Additionally, guests can experience a range of City Winery’s wines at the Tasting Bar located in the entrance alcove, Open Friday 5-8PM, Saturday 1-6PM, and Sunday 1-5PM.
All shows at City Winery start at 8pm unless otherwise noted. City Winery’s website is updated weekly with special guest announcements and ticketing information. Secure valet parking is available during all City Winery hours of operation.
