NEW SHOWS ANNOUNCED AT CITY WINERY WASHINGTON DC
Urban Winery Adds Diverse Acts to Lineup
Washington, D.C. (July 16, 2019)—City Winery Washington DC (1350 Okie St NE) has added several new shows to The Wine Garden and Concert Venue for August, as well as a handful of shows into the fall and winter. Newly added shows include soul, R&B, pop, folk, country, and Americana acts.
Several musicians will join the lineup this August, including global jazz artist Manolo Mairena in The Wine Garden on 8/24. In the concert venue on 8/24 guests will enjoy Urban Flavorz Comedy Presents: Pierre, Rob Maher, and Rallo Boykins. Detroit hip-hop act Slum Village will appear in the concert venue on 8/27. Ola Onabulé will appear in The Wine Garden on 8/30 for an evening of soulful jazz, including hits from his latest release It’s The Peace That Deafens.
Later in the year, Seven Voices: A Tribute to Patsy Cline will perform in the concert venue on 9/8. On this night a variety of performers will pay tribute to the country legend with classic renditions of her songs as well as re-imagined renditions of her pieces. On 9/25 The Midnight Hour appears in the concert venue. Ali Shaheed Muhammad, known from his time with A Tribe Called Quest, and Adrian Younge, appear alongside a tight rhythm section and a full orchestra with special guests Loren Oden, Angela Muñoz, & Jack Waterson. In October, Heather Mae’s GLIMMER Tour makes a stop in The Wine Garden on 10/4; country singer Jennifer Knapp showcases songs from her album Love Comes Back Around in The Wine Garden on 10/13; and on 10/30 soul/R&B duo Chantae Cann & Stout will perform in the concert venue. A rare duo appearance from Sonny Landreth & Cindy Cashdollar featuring contemporary and traditional blues and roots music will take place in the concert venue on 11/7. Also in November, Afro-Cuban artist, Daymé Arocena, will perform some of her hits in the concert venue. Added to the lineup for 12/29, alternative-folk rock artist Stephen Kellogg will play in the concert venue.
Tonight, Sirius Company featuring Ms. Kim & Scooby will take the stage in the concert venue. Doors for the Go-Go show are at 6PM with the show kicking off at 8PM; ladies get into the show for free until 8PM. This Wednesday, rock ensemble and independent artists Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers with Scott Kurt play in the concert venue, while Upstate with Handsome Hound perform in The Wine Garden. Those looking for a laugh on Thursday can take in Freddie Ricks, Alexx Starr, Kandyce August Presented by Just Jokes USA with music by DJ Oxygen.
The weekend kicks-off with a show from legendary group Crack The Sky on Friday, while Nikki Hill performs in The Wine Garden bringing songs that concert goers can get up and dance to.
City Winery’s first floor Barrel Room Restaurant & Wine Bar is available for pre or post-show dinner and drinks. Reservations can be made at www.citywinery.com/washingtondc/. Additionally, guests can experience a range of City Winery’s wines at the Tasting Bar located in the entrance alcove, now open on Sundays as well.
All shows at City Winery start at 8pm unless otherwise noted, and City Winery’s website is updated weekly with special guest announcements and ticketing information. Valet parking is available during all City Winery hours of operation.
