BRAVO! Founder & CEO Nancy Shaffer Appointed Chief Creative Officer
Washington, DC - RJ Whyte Event Production (RJ Whyte) Founder and Principal Roger J. Whyte, II announced today the company’s acquisition of BRAVO! Events, a national creative events and strategic experiential powerhouse. As part of the agreement, BRAVO! Founder and CEO Nancy Shaffer assumes a new leadership role within RJ Whyte as Chief Creative Officer. She brings with her an award-winning career built around high-level storytelling through live events, and a mission-driven approach to corporate, association, and non-profit gatherings.
Nancy is a veteran of the special events industry and joins the RJ Whyte team with 30 years of experience producing visionary creative designs for clients around the country. She is an outspoken advocate for her peers and partners as board president for the National Live Events Coalition and founding member of the DC Events Coalition. Since establishing BRAVO! in 1997, she has solidified her position as an authority within the American special events landscape; as an adept and resourceful leader capable of navigating the ongoing challenges and opportunities of in-person and virtual events.
BRAVO!, under Nancy’s leadership, has been synonymous with excellence - a valuable partner known for strategic solutions and contemporary aesthetics. RJ Whyte, with new senior leadership, can deliver venues, vendors, and VIPs savvy, detail-oriented productions, and will be capable of building new, thrilling and dynamic special events. The team’s reputation for sharp logistics and smart event oversight will seamlessly enliven the stories and purpose that shape organizations, companies, and brands.

Nancy’s experience with associations and corporate clients complements the team’s impressive record of work with nonprofits, the arts, and social clients. Established in 2010, RJ Whyte has quickly become an innovative force in the capital region’s special events industry. The growing company’s portfolio of work includes highly visible broadcast productions as well as in-person and virtual event activations for the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, Washington Performing Arts, N Street Village, Bozzuto Management Company, Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington, and National Geographic. The acquisition of BRAVO! represents an expansion for RJ Whyte, diversifying the team’s experience among clients like Google, AARP, and the INOVA Health System.
For her work, Nancy has been awarded International Special Events Society (ISES) Capital Awards for Best Conference/Tradeshow Event Planner, Best International Special Events Team, and Best Public Event. Roger, a Washington Business Journal 2021 40 Under 40 honoree, is listed alongside Nancy among BizBash’s 2021 Top 500 Event Planners - the nation’s leading Event Industry Leaders, Event Planners, Designers, and Producers.

In her new role at RJ Whyte, Nancy will oversee brand communication for clients, discovery and design, and will work with stakeholders to achieve goals through creative storytelling brought to life through live and virtual events. She will continue to serve as president of the Live Events Coalition, and will retain her position on the board of EnventU, a pipeline to professions in the event industry for youth. She continues to support the Bermuda Event Planners Advisory Board as the island nation navigates the ongoing public health emergency, and offers her time and talent as an Ambassador for Safe Shores, a children’s advocacy center in Washington, DC.
