Skydome Announces Appointment of New Chef de Cuisine

Leading The Culinary Team Bringing Mediterranean Roots and French Culture

Washington, DC (September 4, 2024) — Skydome, located atop the DoubleTree by Hilton Washington DC - Crystal City, announced Enis Achour's new appointment as Chef de Cuisine of the luxurious rooftop restaurant and bar.

Enis Achour brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Skydome team in his new role as he begins leading the team. Boasting over 12 years of experience in the food and beverage industry, his culinary journey began in Tunisia, where he grew up. With his mother’s French background and his dad’s from Tunisia, he finds inspiration in his Mediterranean roots and French culture.

After graduating in Restaurant Management from the Institut des Hautes Études Touristiques in Tunisia, he further honed his expertise with a second bachelor’s degree in French Gastronomy from the Pôle Gastronomique de Cergy Pontoise in Paris and a master’s in Oenology and Gastronomy Management at Collège de Paris. Chef Achour worked as an Executive Sous Chef in Paris, overseeing multiple restaurants and refining his passion for food before starting his position at the Skydome.

Chef Achour is thrilled to start his new journey with Skydome and elevate the menu stating, “I find inspiration in the culture I grew up in and am excited to pursue Skydome’s success and work with the team to highlight contemporary American fares with a Mediterranean lens. I’m looking forward to creating a culinary experience for the locals and travelers in an iconic DMV restaurant.”

Chef Achour aims to bring a refreshed inspiration of local, seasonal, and farm-fresh ingredients to the menu at Skydome. When he’s not in the kitchen, you can find him playing soccer, volleyball, beach volleyball, boxing, or visiting the farmer’s markets to search for new products to cook.

The DMV’s only signature rotating restaurant gives diners an amazing 360-degree view of the D.C. skyline and Potomac River. The unique rotating restaurant is bathed in natural light during the day and sparkles with magnificent sunset and evening energy, as well as the National Mall lights at night.

Reservations are recommended and can be made for dinner from Tuesday through Saturday evenings on OpenTable. Walk-ins are welcome based on availability. Dinner is served from 5PM to 10PM, and underground parking will be validated at the restaurant.
