Three Ways to Celebrate and Ring in the New Year at Dirty Habit

Washingtonians Invited to Spend the Last Dinner of the Year in Style with A La Carte Menu and Libations, or at a Fortune Teller’s Brunch on New Year’s Day 2020 

WASHINGTON, DC — Penn Quarter’s luxe restaurant and bar Dirty Habit is celebrating New Year’s Eve in style, inviting Washingtonians for a feast of global cuisine and expertly crafted libations. Tastemakers seeking to indulge before evening festivities can delight in a special prix-fixe dinner menu offered until 8:00 p.m. designed by Executive Chef Kyoo Eom and Beverage Manager Drew Hairston. In the morning, guests can get a glimpse into 2020 at Dirty Habit’s fourth annual New Year’s Day “Fortune Teller’s Brunch.”

New Year’s Eve Special Prix-Fixe Dinner

Available as a four-course meal for $72 per person, Chef Kyoo will offer a range of special dishes for the occasion. First-course options include French onion soup made with rich, braised short rib, caramelized onion and thyme, topped with gruyere cheese and croutons; and Alaska snow crab garnished with pickled radish, chives, fennel, caviar, citrus aioli and orange-champagne foam. Chef Kyoo has sourced beautiful winter truffles available as an optional mid-course for $23. Enjoy them shaved atop chestnut raviolini with pine nut, Castelvetrano olive and lemon; hand rolled ricotta gnocchi with crispy prosciutto; or rich Acquerello-aged carnaroli rice with mascarpone.

Main course selections include Dirty Habit’s signature Chilean seabass seared and stacked with a hearty shrimp rice cake drizzled in soy-honey glaze, sautéed spinach and scallions; roasted lamb rack served with crispy polenta, onion purée and stone ground mustard; and tournedos Rossini, a voluptuous presentation of filet mignon topped with seared foie gras, brioche, sautéed spinach and Rossini sauce. End the meal, and the year, with baked Alaska flambeed tableside; German chocolate cake; or a passion fruit tart.

Every item on the special New Year’s Eve menu will also be available a la carte.

New Year’s Eve Beverage Pairing Selections

Each guest will have the option of adding hand selected beverage pairings for the evening. For the first-course, options include Peak Organic Happy Hour Pilsner, DH Bubbles – Dirty Habit’s proprietary sparkling wine; or a signature Que Sera, Sera made with Cachaça, Fino sherry and tarragon. With the main, guests can enjoy Bell’s Two Hearted IPA, August Kessler RieslingAustin Hope Cabernet Sauvignon, or I’m Your Huckleberry made with Rittenhouse Rye, Rainwater Madeira, huckleberry and allspice dram. Close the evening with a Barros 10 Year Tawny Port, a glass of Allagash Barrel & Bean Aged Belgian Trippel, or a chilled espresso “martini” served in an elegant tall glass filled with Grey Goose, Darjeeling tea, La Colombe cold brew and Bailey’s Peppermint mocha foam.

New Year’s Day “Fortune Teller’s Brunch”

Dirty Habit’s popular “Fortune Teller’s Brunch” returns for a fourth year, offering on-site complimentary palm and tarot card readings to playfully guide guests in to 2020 with wisdom and insight. Every meal will end on a sweet note with a personal fortune cookie treat. Each cookie will have a prize inside, varying from a complimentary glass of DH Bubbles, 20% off the entire New Year’s Day brunch check, or a $100 Dirty Habit gift card that can be applied to a future visit.
